Basketball Recap: Hoisington Falls Despite Big Games from Addison Hanzlick and Kinley Wilkens

It was a proper cat-fight when Hoisington duked it out withPhillipsburg on Tuesday. The Hoisington Cardinals took a 39-21 bruising from the Phillipsburg Panthers. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Kinley Wilkens and Addison Hanzlick certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Wilkens almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards, while Hanzlick posted no points.

Hoisington has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Phillipsburg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Hoisington will welcome Smoky Valley at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. Smoky Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hoisington surely won't give up without a fight. As for Phillipsburg, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 40-34 victory against Smith Center on the 31st.
