Basketball Game Preview: Aliquippa Quips vs. Freedom Area Bulldogs

The Aliquippa Quips will head out on the road to challenge the Freedom Area Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aliquippa will be strutting in after a victory while Freedom Area will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, Aliquippa didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Neshannock, but they still walked away with a 65-61 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Quips.

Meanwhile, Freedom Area took a blow against Neshannock on Monday, falling 78-15. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while the Lancers are ranked 127th).

Aliquippa's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Freedom Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Aliquippa beat Freedom Area 40-33 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Aliquippa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
