Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Jurupa Hills

There's no place like home for Jurupa Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Carter Lions 11-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Alejandro Preciado made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since April 2nd. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Jurupa Hills let Jose Plazola and Aaden Lopez run wild. Plazola went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Lopez went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Plazola a new career-high. Alfredo Hernandez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Jurupa Hills hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matches.

Jurupa Hills' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Carter, their record now sits at 6-11.

Jurupa Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
