Softball Game Preview: New Trier Trevians vs. Amundsen Vikings

The New Trier Trevians will challenge the Amundsen Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Amundsen took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on New Trier, who comes in off a win.

New Trier's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Vernon Hills 11-0. The Trevians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Amundsen came up short against Saint Ignatius College Prep on Monday and fell 9-4. The Vikings have struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

New Trier is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Amundsen, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.
