Volleyball Recap: Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs vs. Northwestern Tigers

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser and Northwestern squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Chetek-Weyerhaeuser had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16.

Northwestern found their leader in sophomore Lauren Zifko, who had 12 digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Zifko. Genna Kreuser also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser now has a losing record of 19-20. As for Northwestern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwestern, they will challenge Barron at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
