Softball Recap: Osceola Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Osceola rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Estero Wildcats by a score of 6-2. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won four contests in a row.

Aliyah Lai was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cassidy Allen, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jenna Neupaver, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Osceola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Osceola's record now sits at 22-7. As for Estero, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-12.

Coming up, Osceola will take on Clearwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2.6, the Tornadoes 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Estero does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
