Recap: Avon Orioles vs. Brownsburg Bulldogs
The Avon Orioles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They slipped by Brownsburg 57-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Avon found their leader in underclassman Jedidiah Minnett, who scored 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Minnett has scored at least 25% of Avon's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Kramer, who scored eight points.
Avon's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Brownsburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon will take on Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Plainfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 476 points over their last seven contests. Brownsburg is on the road again on Saturday and play against Cascade at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th. Cascade will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 254th, while Brownsburg is ranked 41st).
