Volleyball Recap: Mineral Ridge Victorious + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McDonald, Mineral Ridge was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Girard Indians. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Mineral Ridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-7, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Girard saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chloe Plant had eight digs, three aces, and one block. Plant has been hot recently, having posted three or more aces the last four times she's played.

Mineral Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Girard, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mineral Ridge will venture away from home to challenge McKinley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Girard, they will face off against South Range at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
