Basketball Recap: Wahoo Warriors vs. Crete Cardinals        
        
		
            
 The Wahoo Warriors were the  54-26 winner over the Crete Cardinals when they last played one another  back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Wahoo fell  49-42 to the Cardinals on Thursday.
 Despite the loss, Wahoo still got an impressive performance from   Gretchen Seagren, who  scored 15 points along with four  blocks and two  steals. It was the first time this season that  Seagren  scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was  Sidney Smart, who  scored ten points along with six  rebounds.
 Wahoo has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Crete, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wahoo is on the road again  on Saturday and plays the Orangemen at 2:30  p.m.  on February 3rd. Beatrice presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in Nebraska (the Orangemen are ranked 12th, while the Warriors are ranked 66th). As for Crete, they will head out on the road to  face off against  the Huskies at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Aurora is coming into the  matchup on a four-game losing streak.
