Softball Preview: Dodgeville Dodgers vs. Lancaster Flying Arrows        
        
		
            Dodgeville is 9-1 against Lancaster since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Dodgers will head out to  challenge the Flying Arrows  at 5:00  p.m. Dodgeville is coming into the  match hot, having won their last four games.
Last Tuesday, Dodgeville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  victory over Platteville.

 Ava Lord spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Rylee Forsyth, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Brienna Wasley, who  went 1-for-2 with two  RBI.
 Dodgeville  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Platteville struck out seven times.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Lancaster, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Prairie du Chien on Tuesday, sneaking past  6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Flying Arrows have posted  against the Blackhawks since May 22, 2018.
 Lancaster's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Emma Jensen, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. Jensen also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season.
 Dodgeville's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 5-3. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lancaster, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record  this season.
