Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cypress Creek). They blew past the Pasco Pirates 52-17 on Friday. The Coyotes pushed the score to 45-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates had no chance of recovering from.

Cypress Creek had a senior duo take command as Starlin Montero rushed for 96 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries and Jayden Fountain rushed for 88 yards and two scores on only six carries.

Cypress Creek didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Pasco to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. The Coyotes have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.58 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.58 in their last three games.

Despite the loss, Pasco still got an impressive performance from Gio Reyes, who rushed for 110 yards on only eight carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Reyes' longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.

Cypress Creek's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Pasco, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Cypress Creek will head out to square off against Gaither at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 838 yards in their previous games. As for Pasco, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Freedom at 7:30 p.m. The Pirates are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
