Bishop Verot piles up the points against Canterbury

Recap: Bishop Verot Vikings vs. Canterbury Cougars

With a playoff game on the line, the Bishop Verot Vikings rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They breezed by the Cougars on the road to the tune of 53-16. Bishop Verot has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Verot to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leroy Roker, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Williams, who scored 16 points.

The win (which was Bishop Verot's sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-5. As for Canterbury, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Bishop Verot will head out on the road to challenge First Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Baptist Academy is coming into the matchup with eight straight wins at home, meaning Bishop Verot will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Canterbury does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
