Softball Recap: Woodland Wins Going Away Against Hudson's Bay

Woodland got themselves on the board against Hudson's Bay on Wednesday, but Hudson's Bay never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 16-0. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Gracelynn Huffman and Addi Christensen were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Huffman pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Christensen kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Huffman has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. At bat, Huffman scored two runs while going 1-for-1, while Christensen went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that Christensen hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ainsleigh Utter, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Emma Barrow was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Woodland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Woodland and bumps their season record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Hudson's Bay, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
