Volleyball Recap: Desert Vista Thunder vs. Sunnyslope Vikings
If Desert Vista was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Liberty on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Thunder came up short against the Sunnyslope Vikings on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in April.
While Desert Vista ultimately came up short, they really made Sunnyslope work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 26-24, 25-23.
Sunnyslope found their leader in sophomore Nathan Brown, who had 13 digs and three assists. Brown is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Desert Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-21 record this season. As for Sunnyslope, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
As of now, neither Desert Vista nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
