Football Recap: Lapel Bulldogs vs. Hamilton Heights Huskies
Lapel gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 29-20 win over the Hamilton Heights Huskies. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 27-14 loss the last time these two teams met.
Lapel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylie Hudson led the charge by picking up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Despite the defeat, Hamilton Heights saw an underclassman step up: Drew Woodruff threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score. Keaton Weaver was Woodruff's top target, picking up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
