JSerra Catholic got a great performance from Liliana Escobar as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Escobar has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madeline Capek, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She also put up a run, which was her first of the season. Lauren Gaitley was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, Dana Hills got the win against Edison on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dolphins.
Melissa Reed was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Reed was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and three RBI.
In other batting news, Dana Hills got a big performance out of Marley Tisdale, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Trinity Leclair, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Dana Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
JSerra Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Dana Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
