Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Pike). They blew past the Hazlehurst Indians 15-3 on Thursday. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3, 2024.

Semaj Ross and Jordan Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Ross scored two runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3, while Jones scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Holmes, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

The victory made it two in a row for South Pike and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Hazlehurst, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to a 10-10 tie on Friday.
