Recap: Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles vs. Meridian Mustangs

The Bruning-Davenport/Shickley Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They lost to Meridian at home by a decisive 47-29 margin. The game was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but Bruning-Davenport/Shickley couldn't quite close it out.

Meridian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaala Stewart, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ana Dimas, who scored 13 points along with three steals and two blocks.

Bruning-Davenport/Shickley dropped their record down to 6-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Meridian, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
