Softball Recap: Napa Comes Up Short

After flying high against Winters last Tuesday, Napa came back down to earth. Napa lost 12-4 to the Redwood Giants on Friday. If the Grizzlies were looking for revenge after losing 8-7 to the Giants when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Napa saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Michie, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those RBI were Michie's first of the season.

Napa has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. The victory (which was Redwood's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Coming up, Napa will face off against American Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Redwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tamalpais at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Tamalpais' pitching crew has only allowed 0.8 runs per game this season, so Redwood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
