Basketball Recap: Troup County Find Success

While Troup County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Spalding Jaguars by a score of 59-46 on Friday. The 59-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

DEE MORELAND was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 14 on his way to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Brown, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Troup County's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Spalding, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Troup County has already played their next match, a 70-45 victory against Heard County on the 14th. Spalding and LaGrange will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
