League recap: Winslow extends winning streak with victory over Chinle

Adding to the longest winning streak in IV Section I this week, Winslow beat Chinle 50-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bulldogs.

Winslow took down the Wildcats 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. James Martinez threw for 95 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.

Redmond Delmar threw for 225 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 15-25 with 1 interception.

Brandon Nez was a key player and the best on defense this week as Monument Valley defeated Ganado. The 5-foot-5 senior forced 1 fumble and racked up 0 sack.

Delmar put up the best numbers in passing as the Mustangs beat the Hornets. Delmar's favorite target this week was Cauy Nelson, who caught 7 passes for 84 yards.

Monument Valley's Delmar and Keanu Mitchell led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Delmar has thrown for 2,165 yards this season, while Mitchell has 37 catches for 724 yards. Window Rock's Delano (Tony) Walker leads the league in rushing yards with 1,346.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Winslow takes on second place Page. BJ Little's team topped Chinle last week, while Page bested the Fighting Scouts.

Bryan M. Begay's team led IV Section I in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Ganado. Delmar ran for 18 yards in the win.
