Basketball Game Preview: Woodmont Wildcats vs. Greenville Red Raiders

The Woodmont Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Greenville Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodmont will be strutting in after a victory while Greenville will be coming in after a loss.

Woodmont took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They strolled past Pendleton with points to spare, taking the game 54-36. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 225th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Greenville lost to Greenwood on the road by a 53-38 margin on Monday. The contest marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

The win got Woodmont back to even at 6-6. As for Greenville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Woodmont came up short against Greenville in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 56-46. Can Woodmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
