It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Oregon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Stoughton Vikings 8-7. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Carson Gehrke made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gehrke was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Oregon let Cole Devenport and Elliot Mueller run wild. Devenport scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Mueller scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Ryan Dins was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

The win got Oregon back to even at 2-2. As for Stoughton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oregon will welcome Monona Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stoughton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against McFarland at 5:00 p.m.
