Soccer Game Preview: Truman vs. Chrisman

The Truman Patriots will head out to square off against the Chrisman Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Truman's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Belton with a sharp 6-0 victory. Considering Truman have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Chrisman got the win against Raytown on Tuesday by a conclusive 7-1. The win continues a trend for Chrisman in their matchups with Raytown: they've now won four in a row.

The victory made it two in a row for Truman and bumps their season record up to 9-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two games. As for Chrisman, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Truman beat Chrisman 4-2 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
