Volleyball Recap: East Central Takes a Loss

East Central lost against Steele back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hornets came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Steele scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-18.

Leilani Lusia paced East Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Lusia got some help from Farrah Funari and her 17 assists.

East Central dropped their record down to 20-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Steele, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-16 record this season.

East Central and Steele should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Hornets (ranked 290th) will meet San Marcos (ranked 821st) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Steele will face off against Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (115 vs. 705).
