Jay took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-0 victory over the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Stingrays recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Jaymes Youngblood had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 253 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per carry. Those 253 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jaylen Youngblood was another key player, rushing for 24 yards and one score.

Jay's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Nick Baxley, Chase Dooley, and Rylan Williams, who each picked up one sack apiece. Baxley was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Jay will head out on the road to challenge Freeport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Jefferson County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
