Baseball Recap: Chartiers Valley Comes Up Short

Chartiers Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South Fayette on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-3 to the Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Tuesday.

Jake Federouch was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Chartiers Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for South Fayette, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Coming up, South Fayette will be playing in front of their home fans against Bethel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Chartiers Valley will be paying especially close attention to the Lions' contest: after the Lions faces off against the Black Hawks, they'll take on Chartiers Valley again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
