Baseball Recap: Charlestown Wins Going Away Against Christian Academy

After only one run in their last contest, Charlestown made sure to put some runs up on the board against Christian Academy on Friday. The Pirates blew past the Warriors 17-7. Considering the Pirates have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cooper Lynch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Christian Grayson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Charlestown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Charlestown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, Charlestown will square off against Corydon Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Crawford County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
