Baseball Recap: Cleveland Comes Up Short

Cleveland has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.09 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 11-1 to the Oak Ridge War Eagles. The Indians have struggled against the War Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Cleveland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gio Medina, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Medina hit this season.

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Oak Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-5-5.

Looking ahead, Cleveland will challenge Eisenhower at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cleveland's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Eisenhower's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oak Ridge, they will square off against Elgin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
