Recap: Moffat County Bulldogs vs. Berthoud Spartans
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Moffat County Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They slipped by Berthoud 14-13. The victory was nothing new for Moffat County as they're now sitting on six straight.
The critical scores for Moffat County came from Zachary Hedman and Hudson Jones.
Despite the loss, Berthoud still got an impressive performance from Alex Larson, who rushed for 193 yards and a touchdown.
Moffat County pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Coal Ridge and 1-8 Bayfield (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 31.8% over those games). As for Berthoud, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-1.
Moffat County will square off against Delta at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Delta is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Berthoud does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
