Recap: Hertford County Bears vs. Manteo Redskins
On Friday, The Hertford County Bears got themselves on the board against the Manteo Redskins, but the Manteo Redskins never followed suit. They blew past the Redskins 42-0 on the road. Given Hertford County's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Manteo is ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elijah Outlaw got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Outlaw's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Jordan Staton and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Hertford County's win.
The win was the third in a row for Hertford County, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 43.33 points. As for Manteo, their defeat was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9.
Hertford County will take on Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holmes is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Manteo, they will head out on the road to face off against Camden County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Camden County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
