Softball Recap: Dekaney Victorious

Dekaney's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Aldine Mustangs 19-18. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the match before.

Zoe Trevi?o was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Takiara Blanton was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles.

Dekaney's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Aldine, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dekaney will head out to square off against Westfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aldine, they are taking a road trip to take on Royal at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday.
