Football Game Preview: Sangre de Cristo vs. Dove Creek

Dove Creek will challenge Sangre de Cristo on the road at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Both teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.

Dove Creek suffered a grim 6-40 defeat to Norwood last Friday. Dove Creek's loss came about despite a quality game from freshman Chorbin Cressler, who rushed for 110 yards and 1 touchdown. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Cressler's 92-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 0-63, which was the final score in Sangre de Cristo's tilt against Sanford. Sangre de Cristo were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-49.

With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous match, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
