Basketball Recap: Coolidge Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Coolidge extended their home winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Josslyn Derricott. The Coolidge Colts really took it to the Jackson-Reed Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up an 81-45 win thanks in part to Derricott, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Coolidge's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Serena Strong, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Coolidge's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Jackson-Reed, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 12-5 record.

Coolidge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-46 win against Bowie on the 28th. Jackson-Reed has also already played their next match (against MacArthur), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
