Softball Recap: Rock Hill Drops Season-High Score on Princeton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Hill). They blew past the Princeton Panthers 19-7 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Hawks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Madilynn Grossman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Grossman was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in January of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabrielle Luna, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Madelyn Kerrigan was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Rock Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rock Hill's record now sits at 7-10. As for Princeton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15-1 record this season.
