Soccer Game Preview: Aquinas vs. Minerva

The Aquinas Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Minerva Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Aquinas managed to keep up with Lake Center Christian until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Tiger. The defeat continues a trend for Aquinas in their meetings with Lake Center Christian: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Minerva waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-1.

Minerva hit Carrollton with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kyleigh Lippincott, Burick Sophia, and Ireland Kirkpatrick.

Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Minerva, they now have a winning record of 7-6-2.

Aquinas came out on top in a nail-biter against Minerva when the teams last played back in September of 2020, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
