Softball Recap: Franklinton Gets the Win

Franklinton's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 17-13 victory over the Green Hope Falcons. While the Red Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Madison Peebles, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Jo Helton, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Peebles wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Franklinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. Franklinton is a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Franklinton's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Green Hope, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Franklinton has already played their next game, an 11-0 defeat against Southern Nash on the 25th. As for Green Hope, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-8 victory against Green Level on the 25th.
