Softball Recap: Hartfield Academy Hawks vs. Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots

Hartfield Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Patriots on Saturday as the Hartfield Academy Hawks made off with a 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Raegan Huber was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Huber was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Carson Smith was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Caroline Cronin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.

Hartfield Academy pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
