Basketball Game Preview: Flagler Panthers vs. Springfield Longhorns

The Flagler Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Springfield Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Flagler came up short against Hi-Plains and fell 41-34. The Panthers have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Springfield entered their tilt with Walsh on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They breezed by the Eagles to the tune of 65-15. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-7.

Springfield's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Flagler, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Flagler came up short against Springfield in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 49-44. Thankfully for Flagler, Kendall Myers (who went 8 of 19 en route to 21 points and four blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
