Baseball Recap: West Jordan Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

There's no place like home for West Jordan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Murray Spartans 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

West Jordan got a great performance from Austin Gehman as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gehman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ethan Baldwin and Tanner Rosenthal did most of the damage at the plate: Baldwin went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Rosenthal went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Rosenthal a new career-high. Jaxon Rowley was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

West Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Murray, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5-1.

As of now, neither West Jordan nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
