Baseball Game Preview: Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey vs. Sutherland Knights

For the first time this season, Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sutherland Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sutherland took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Bishop Kearney 7-5.

Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey got a great performance from Alex Bianchi as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carlo Leon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Jason, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Sutherland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Mendon. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.
