Baseball Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles vs. Temecula Valley Golden Bears

The Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles will take on the Temecula Valley Golden Bears at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Capistrano Valley Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Capistrano Valley Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Woodbridge, taking the game 6-1.

The team relied heavily on Will Casarietti, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic French, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Temecula Valley beat Yucaipa 8-4 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Bears.

Taden Krogsgaard was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Krogsgaard was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cole Jones was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Eric Shim, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Capistrano Valley Christian pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 12 hits in those games compared to only 3.67 in the others.
