Football Recap: South Eugene Axe vs. Springfield Millers
Friday just wasn't the day for South Eugene's offense. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Springfield Millers. The Axe have struggled against the Millers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Rocco Higbee threw for 31 yards. Gus Nelson was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards.
Springfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Noah Solo led the charge by rushing for 100 yards and two TDs on only ten carries. Solo has become a key player for the Millers: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.
