Soccer Game Preview: Covington vs. Northshore

Covington hasn't had much luck against Northshore recently, but that could start to change on Sunday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Covington face off against the Northshore at 5:30 p.m.

Covington managed to keep up with Northlake Christian until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Covington lost 3-0 to Northlake Christian. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Northshore entered their tilt with Slidell on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Tigers onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Give the Panthers' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Northshore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those nine games. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15-1.
