The Marcellus Mustangs are on the road again on Wednesday to play the Skaneateles Lakers at 6:00 p.m. Skaneateles took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Marcellus, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Marcellus was able to grind out a solid win over Fulton, taking the game 3-1.
Marcellus had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-23.
Meanwhile, Skaneateles was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cicero-North Syracuse.
Marcellus' victory bumped their record up to 17-18-2. As for Skaneateles, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Marcellus skirted past Skaneateles 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marcellus since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
