Baseball Game Preview: Benjamin Logan Raiders vs. Fairbanks Panthers

The Benjamin Logan Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Fairbanks Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fairbanks took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Benjamin Logan, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Benjamin Logan needed a bit of extra time to put away Shawnee. They skirted past the Braves 5-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Bryden Morris made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching eight innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off 12 hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Benjamin Logan is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise. Morris was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted over his last ten contests.

Morris wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Brown, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Anthony Griffith, who earned two RBI and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Fairbanks' offense. They fell just short of Cedarville by a score of 2-0 last Wednesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Fairbanks now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Benjamin Logan, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
