Softball Recap: Make It Ten in a Row for Brockway

Brockway barely beat Brookville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rovers blew past the Raiders 16-4 on Thursday. Considering the Rovers have won eight contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bailee Carberry looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Meeca Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Josie Orkinko also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The victory was the tenth in a row for Brockway, bringing their record up to 10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Brookville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brockway will take on Redbank Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookville, they will challenge Elk County Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.2 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
