Baseball Game Preview: Worcester Tech Eagles vs. Blackstone Valley RVT Beavers

Worcester Tech hasn't had much luck against Blackstone Valley RVT recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Beavers at 3:30 p.m.

Worcester Tech fell victim to Bay Path RVT and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 13-0 to the Minutemen.

Meanwhile, Blackstone Valley RVT waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 29, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Evan Pupka was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Pupka was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. Those hits marked the first that he got this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Pilkington, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alex Vosburgh, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Blackstone Valley RVT was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Worcester Tech's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Blackstone Valley RVT, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Worcester Tech might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Blackstone Valley RVT when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
