They blew past Tradition Prep 60-38. Given Somerset Academy - Canyons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Tradition Prep is ranked 579th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Somerset Academy - Canyons can attribute much of their success to Victor Diaz, who scored 20 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Diaz has scored at least 25% of Somerset Academy - Canyons' points. Another player making a difference was Watson Eloi, who scored 10 points.
Despite the defeat, Tradition Prep saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Harris scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydan Fields, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Somerset Academy - Canyons' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Tradition Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Somerset Academy - Canyons will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Katz Yeshiva at 7:00 p.m. Tradition Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sebastian River at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Sebastian River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday.
