Baseball Recap: Windber Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Windber won against United last Friday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Ramblers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Penn Cambria Panthers, sneaking past 9-7. With that win, the Ramblers brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Lucas Oleksa was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucas Rummel, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Windber pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Penn Cambria, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windber will host Meyersdale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Ramblers are facing the Red Raiders at the right time seeing as the Red Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Penn Cambria, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chestnut Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
